Feng Shui

Fenf Shui (Wind and Water) is an ancient Chinese philosophy of how we live in the natural and man-made environment. It considers natural energy forces, the elements and man-made conditions. It is also common sense, Geomancy and a set of principles refined over hundreds of years. I was first made aware of it when a client (a Chinese businessman) was going to by a block of land with spectacular views of a river and mountains and he wanted me to design a house to suit the land. However, his wife warned about living there because it was bad feng shui, so the land was not bought.
I will work with an owner or a consultant on a design which is guided by Feng Shui. I must confess I do not have a great understanding of Feng Shui (that is for the professionals) but I do respect the idea of living in harmony with your surroundings.
